The idea of employing a cook is probably not practical. Good cooks are working, and "underutilized" mayan chefs are impossible to reach; they do not have cell phones or computers or mailboxes. The best Yucatec dishes are roast suckling pig, and redfish baked in the ground with banana leaves, which are both better enjoyed than attempted oneself.

Of the ones I have tried, I like Shin Jung, 1638 E Colonial Dr, Orlando - (407) 895-7345, the best. It's been there a long time, the menu is extensive, staff is accustomed to both Kiren guests familiar with the food and other who are not.

We're a pretty big county, Pinellas, from Gulfport all the way up to Tarpon Springs, beach areas to main streets of quite a few towns. If you search the board by name of a city or town you will see a lot of casual restaurants discussed, along with some mention of upper end restaurants on our side of the bay.

I thought I'd start a new thread to list restaurants in the Boston area that LEGALLY permit BYOB, since the last thread is quite old. Please don't post the name of a restaurant that lets you do illegal BYOB, since we don't want to get them in trouble.

I am bringing a convention to Tampa in early January, and I am seeking out a special experience in dining for our moderators dinner. The budget is upwards of $3000 for 20 people. I have done dinners in wine cellars, lighthouses, celebrity chef's restaurants in Las Vegas, and I am looking for the unique experience in Tampa. First thought: a boat.

I think I went to Windows. It wasn't that good, but I liked the view. The West restaurant on the top of the Angeleno (round hotel at 405/Sunset) is OK for food, but the place is great for a happy hour, especially if you get there before sunset and during rush hour.

Hey Chowhounds, I'm looking for a restaurant to take my best friend out to before I am thrust into the real world via graduation. I'd like to find a BYO-type restaurant somewhere either in UCity or WPhilly that's not a Penn student "destination" and is relatively inexpensive for someone on a student-budget (read: CHEAP ;D).

My question for you all is about restaurants serving Christmas dinner. Christmas this year is going to be a little disjointed (some people in my family are traveling the day after), and I thought it might be nice for several family members to go out for a mid-afternoon dinner after the opening of the gifties.

Well, it can depend on what time you're/they're dining. Not everyone wants to dine early, but a lot of places will be reasonably quiet if you're willing to get a 5:00 seating, although they will get noisier as your dinner extends past 6:00.

MoroLeon in Kennett Square is a Mexican restaurant. It is in the New Garden Shopping Center at the south end of Kennett Square, 15 minutes from Longwood Gardens. Definitely no atmosphere but authentic and interesting food. No liquor licence, so bring your own. Also, be patient. Waitstaff is young Mexican girls, and they're not terribly efficient.
